Every meaningful mission begins with a story.

For David Dombrowski, that story began with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida.

From the very beginning, David defied expectations. Every physician and doctor who examined him told his family that he would never be able to walk—or even make it out of the hospital. Eighteen surgeries later, with an incredible amount of love, determination, and support from his family, David defeated the odds stacked against him.

He learned to walk on his own.

Throughout his life, David has continued to push past the limitations others placed on him, always seeing the word “never” as a challenge rather than a destination. His determination and hard work have allowed him to become an avid golfer and snowboarder, compete in numerous sports including hockey and volleyball, and serve as captain of both his high school and college lacrosse teams.

At fourteen, David discovered his true passion: music and playing the drums. What began as a passion grew into a career that has taken him around the world. Over the years, David has worked in multiple roles within the music industry and toured alongside artists including Avril Lavigne, Lola Young, Tyler Hilton, Grabbitz, Canaan Cox, Elize and Delusional, and Thomas Ian Nicholas, among others.

David’s journey has shown him firsthand that a diagnosis or perceived limitation does not have to define a person's future. With the right support, resources, opportunity, and determination, individuals can accomplish things others once thought were impossible.

David understands firsthand the importance of accessible healthcare, adaptive equipment, specialized therapies, and inclusive communities. He also knows that when individuals receive the right support, extraordinary things become possible.

The Dombrowski Impact Foundation was created to ensure that children and adults living with adaptive needs have access to opportunities that foster independence, confidence, and hope.

Today, the Foundation continues David’s mission of turning personal experience into meaningful action—helping families navigate challenges, overcome barriers, and build a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone.
